New Moisture Control Tube stops condensation for longer actuator life

The problems caused by condensation and moisture produced in the exhaust of small actuators and air operated valves have now been solved with the launch of a new, innovative Moisture Control Tube, Series IDK, from experts in pneumatics SMC. Reduced performance and operational failures due to condensation have long troubled machine builders and maintenance engineers around the world. Previously in an attempt to solve this problem different technologies have been tried including the reduction of the dew point, however this only created other problems including dry grease and increased ozone. Now, rather than lowering the dew point, SMC´s new fluorine resin IDK tube eliminates condensation using a diffusion method which removes the super-saturated moisture and condensate by transferring it from the high humidity areas found inside the actuator to the lower humidity surfaces found outside. User benefits of this moisture control tube include extended actuator life, the prevention of tact time degradation and operational failure in all small actuators and grippers. Available for use with 2mm, 4mm and 6mm outside tube diameters and in either 100mm or 200mm tube lengths, Series IDK is both quick and easy to install using a SMC one-touch fitting located close to the actuator or air operated valve. - ends -
