Compact ionizer range extends static removal options

One of the most effective ways to eliminate the build up of static electricity in industrial applications is the use of an ionizer. However in some cases machine builders simply have not had sufficient space to incorporate an ionizer in their designs or even the availability on an ionizer with sufficient performance to be considered suitable for their needs. Now thanks to experts at the world’s automation leaders SMC and their new Series IZN10 ionizer range these static electricity problems may be a thing of the past. At only 16 mm thick, Series IZN 10 is one of the most compact ionizer on the market thanks to its in-built, low voltage, power supply. Available in two options the ionizer can be selected with either a long or short range nozzle making them ideal for numerous applications. The long range, high flow rate option uses compressed air to boost its ionised air performance which achieves an ionised air balance to ±15V making it ideal for static elimination or dust removal at distances up to 500mm. Alternately, the short range, energy saving option, achieves an ion balance of ±10V, using less air consumption, making it perfect for the fast elimination of static when working with individual spot type applications. Key features of Series IZN 10 include an electrode needle indicator that provides an early warning of any reduction in the ionizer´s performance, due to stains or wear to the needle, plus two energy saving inputs which turn the ionizer off when either an air pressure drop is detected or simply when all the static has been removed. Simple, fast and safe needle replacement or maintenance is also guaranteed thanks to the IZN 10´s needle cartridge type design. Available in a wide range of mounting options including both direct and bracket types, Series IZN 10 is fully compliant with both CE and RoHS directives.
