| Is
the Future going to be Smaller ?
Dear Reader.
According to a recent news story in the UK media,
the future is going to be both warmer
and smaller.
This statement follows a 20 year research project
undertaken in Hita, a small Scottish island,
where biologists have found that year-on-year
the local sheep are getting considerably smaller!
Obviously this trend has presented an interesting
puzzle given that most animals are generally
getting bigger and especially in Hita where
its cool climate would normally lead to animals
getting heavier to withstand the cold.
As with many other scientific findings currently,
biologists have now put this down to, yes you`ve
probably guessed it - climate change!
It seems that with temperatures getting warmer,
survival rates of young sheep have dramatically
risen resulting in more adult sheep. And, although
less natural food is available because itīs
hotter they donīt need to eat as much.
Just a thought, but if climate change can make
sheep smaller, maybe humans might also enjoy
this phenomenon and those extra kilos some us
are carrying might just disappear naturally!
Anyway continuing with the topic of size, checkout
our new compact cylinder and valve unit in this
October edition of e-Matters and youīll hopefully
agree with us - that the future is definitely
going to be smaller.
