Dear Reader.
After what feels like the longest winter in years,
followed by an equally disappointing spring in
much of Europe, at long last summer is finally
here!
And, with the warmth of the sun on our faces and
thoughts of those difficult economic times pushed
to the back of our minds, many people will now
be spending time researching and choosing a nice
place to spend a few relaxing, stress free, days
on holiday.
For those students of etymology, the word "holiday"
is believed to come from the old English word
haligdag, which originally referred to special
religious days (Holy Days). Obviously, these two
words have gradually evolved and the word holiday
is now generally used to describe any special
day of rest or relaxation as apposed to normal
days away from work or study.
So, with thoughts of spending quality time with
our loved ones now in our minds, welcome to this
