SMC, the worlds leading provider of pneumatics, is sliding into pole position as the market leader of electric actuators by extending its popular LEF Series.
SMC has spent the last few years developing its LEF electric actuator series from easy to use options to highly technical, bespoke solutions to give customers a complete range.
Two new ranges have been introduced to complete the LEF Series offering customers further choice in terms of speed, stroke length and transfer load capacity, enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
The LEFB range has a belt drive with AC Servo Motors and has the capacity to carry higher transfer loads, with improved acceleration, speed and longer strokes. The range also features a pulse input signal that can synchronise with other components. It also offers selectable motor mounting options of top or bottom, to minimise interference with workpieces and the option of two compatible encoders incremental and absolute types.
A ball screw drive option is accommodated in the LEFS range, with a new model featuring a parallel motor (right or left) and a broader selection of strokes. There is no operational interference, even when using large workpieces, as the top table surface is level with the motor. With the ability to work in small spaces, the overall length and height of these actuators has been reduced by 15%.
Ideal for general industrial machinery for all transfer and assembly related industries, the LEF Series is perfect for precise positioning as well as pick and place, load and unload transfer of workpieces.
Recognised as a global technology leader and recently voted for the third consecutive year as one of the worlds most innovative by leading business magazine, Forbes, SMC has a diverse customer base covering all automation industries.
