SMC, the world’s leading provider of pneumatics, has unveiled a new electromagnetic digital flow switch that is guaranteed to ‘attract’ customers.
The company has used its expertise to design its LFE Series without any moving parts or electrodes in the fluid path, so that it doesn’t clog up, is maintenance free and offers an extended service life. It also has a low pressure loss of 0.02MPa or less that delivers energy savings.
Highly flexible, the compact and lightweight design of the LFE is suitable for a variety of applications thanks to its impressive range capability of 40:1, flow range of up to 200L/min and temperature range up to 85°C. The flow direction can also be altered post installation without altering the piping, offering additional labour savings.
It can manage conductive fluids, such as water and water-soluble coolant, or fluids that have at least 5ìS/cm conductivity and are compatible with the materials they come into contact with (PPS, FKM and brass).
A further design highlight is the LFE’s option of integrated 3-colour/2-screen display or separate sensor/monitor that offer clear visibility of the flow rate and other parameters such as set, accumulated and peak/bottom values all at the same time.
In addition, the ability to select response times from 0.25 up to 5 seconds, whilst retaining repeatability of ±2%F.S, allows for the control of chattering and reduces the overall influence of pulsation on the flow of fluids.
With all these market leading features, the LFE has been designed to support applications where control of the cooling water flow is required, for example, welding gun, leakage control for the tip, metal mould and aqueous coolant.
Recognised as a global technology leader and recently voted for the third consecutive year as one of the world’s most innovative by leading business magazine, Forbes, SMC has a diverse customer base covering all automation industries.
