SMC, the world’s leading provider of pneumatics, has ‘plugged’ a gap in the market with the expansion of its popular SJ 2000 / 3000 solenoid valves.
Originally designed to manage low flow rates, the SJ series 4 port solenoid valves features a new ‘plug-in’ option that makes it easy to add a station to the manifold.
The improved design has a SUP/ EXH block that houses both a pressure regulator and a pressure switch within the manifold. The pressure is simpler to set as the knob of the regulator can be ordered in either vertical or lateral directions and it’s easier to read, thanks to the four-way orientation of the pressure switch display.
Further time savings are also achievable, thanks to simpler wiring in the manifold as the pressure switch output can be driven through the centralised electrical entry point.
The SJ range benefits from being easy to operate with new solenoid valve options, which include a built-in speed controller with ‘meter in’ and ‘meter out’ system options.
Tools are no longer required to set-up the pneumatic equipment thanks to new sliding locks on the valve that have a manual override, offering customers reduced installation costs. The variety of manual override options, has also led to improved safety during set-up and maintenance.
Highly adaptable to meet different pressure needs, manifold configurations or wiring requirements, the SJ series is ideal for the semi-conductor industry, electrical/electronic equipment, pick and place systems and general machinery.
Recognised as a global technology leader and recently voted for the third consecutive year as one of the world’s most innovative by leading business magazine, Forbes, SMC has a diverse customer base covering all automation industries.
