SMC, the world's leader in pneumatics, is embarking on a 2012 European tour this summer and autumn bringing innovation to its customers.
Visiting six countries over the next four months and covering 50.000 kilometres, the specially adapted, 15 metre long SMC innovation tour bus will showcase the latest developments in component technology directly to its customers' doors.
SMC said: "Due to the outstanding success of our maiden voyage in 2011 we have decided to take to the road once again, with our 'Unlock The Door To A World Of Opportunities' tour.
"Our custom built exhibition vehicle comes with 10 dynamic and static displays, showcasing many of our latest products some of which are unique to the European market. We hope to visit almost 1,000 customers between now and November."
The SMC innovation bus will exhibit SMC's latest range of e-actuators including the new LEL Low Profile Electric Actuator, Guide Rod Slider and the LEP Miniature Electric Actuator. Also being unveiled for the first time, will be the company's new series of vacuum valves ZP2V. Designed to allow vacuum flow only when the workpiece is in contact with the vacuum pad, the ZP2V takes away the need for additional detection signals.
SMC added: "We are in the business of creating bespoke, cost effective hi-tech solutions for our customers. We believe the tour bus offers another solution by saving our customers time, money and the hassle of going to trade exhibitions by bringing an 'exhibition' to their front door."
SMC is recognised as the global technology leader in the pneumatic industry and offers over 11,000 basic products with over 600,000 variations.
