For the second year running, SMC Pneumatics has been voted one of the top 100 most innovative companies in the world by leading business magazine, Forbes.The only pneumatics company to make the prestigious list, SMC has secured its place based on its commitment to R&D, re-investment and overall financial performance.
The news follows SMC’s recent announcement that it is to increase its investment in R&D during 2013 by almost 2% to 144millon Euros. With two technical centres in Europe, UK and Germany, as well as Japan, China and the USA, SMC launches around 40 new products to the European market every year.

From its original pneumatics roots 53 years ago, SMC now has a team of 1,400 R&D engineers and offers over 11,000 basic products with more than 620,000 variations. Over the years, it has extended its product range from basic pneumatic components through to specialist products such as dryer/chillers, easy to programme electric actuators, ionizers as well as process control and instrumentation components.
