SMC, the world's leading pneumatics provider, is getting into the flow with its new fluid control solutions for the Process industry.
It's vital that Process Plants measure, monitor and control their complex network of systems and have reliable methods of detection for any disturbances in pressure, flow, level and temperature that, if unchecked, could have a damaging effect on output.
As such, SMC, recently voted as one of the world's most innovative companies by leading business magazine, Forbes, has been developing specific solutions for fluid control systems. The new range, featuring IP positioners, flame proof valves and NAMUR valves, will be unveiled at this year's Valve World 2012, Düsseldorf, Germany from 27 to 29 November in Hall 3, Stand 3C77.
SMC said: "This is the first time we have exhibited at Valve World and we are delighted to have such a strong range of fluid control solutions on display. This new, exciting series builds on our existing product range of valve automation products for process industry applications. The series has been carefully designed and developed with ease of use, reliability and robustness in mind."
SMC's SMART IP Positioners, used for mounting on pneumatic cylinders, rotary and linear actuators and control valves, are capable of operating in temperatures as low as -40°C. Ideal for industrial automation such as Power, Steel, Petroleum, Oil and Natural Gas to Chemicals, Paper plants, Waste Water and Portable Water, they offer high accuracy and stability, have integrated self-calibration and HART transmission mode with an option for continuous analogue output of 4-20 mA.
Also, making an explosive entry, are SMC's NAMUR and flame proof valves. The products have 5/2 and 3/2 functionality and offer a high flow rate. They also boast an additional safety function, by featuring a pilot valve exhaust which prevents air leaking in hazardous areas.
Other products being exhibited include SMC's SUS316L filter regulators for oil & gas applications, which are capable of performing in temperatures from as low as -40°C to +80°C and can handle operating pressures of 2MPa. The SMART actuator, using the latest air servo technology, is able to operate accurately at high speeds of 500mm/sec and is an ideal solution where high performance of industrial valves is required.
