SMC receives Bosch Global Supplier Award 2023

SMC receives Bosch Global Supplier Award 2023

The specialist for pneumatic and electric automation SMC got the "Bosch Global Supplier Award" in the category "Indirect Purchasing and Services" for its top performance as a supplier.

With this award, the leading manufacturer, partner, and solution provider for pneumatic and electric automation technology is thus one of the best 46 suppliers from 11 countries that Bosch has awarded this year from its approximately 35,000 suppliers. SMC's product portfolio includes pneumatics, electric drive-, compressed air- and process technology. The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services and rewarded the above-average performance in deliveries and the contribution to CO2 reduction.

This year, the award ceremony took place during a two-day supplier day from July 13 to 14 at the International Congress Center Dresden (ICD). As representatives of SMC, Ralf Laber, Senior Sales Manager Automotive, and Oliver Meyer, Key Account Manager, received the "Bosch Global Supplier Award" in the capital of Saxony.

Dr. Arne Flemming, Head of Supply Chain Management at Bosch: "Our award winners impressed us with their top performance in the manufacturing and supply of raw materials, products or services. Particularly in terms of quality, costs, and sustainability, they are among the best of the best for us."

"We are extremely pleased with the award, which underscores the many years of cooperation and the trust placed in us by our customer Bosch," says Oliver Meyer, Key Account Manager at SMC Germany. "As a solution provider in automation, we provide the entire range of automation technology from pneumatic and electric drives to process technology, chillers and ionizers. In doing so, we always strive to select the solutions that deliver optimum added value along the value chain - both in terms of productivity and savings. This is a great recognition of our work and motivates us to continue giving our best in the future."

With the award, the Bosch Group recognizes above-average performance by its suppliers in the manufacturing or supply of raw materials, products, or services - particularly in terms of quality, costs, sustainability, and innovations. The award is based on specific criteria in the categories "Indirect Purchasing and Services," "Raw Materials and Components," as well as "Sustainability." Bosch has been honoring the top performance of its supplier companies every two years since 1987 and the award is well recognized in industry circles.
