Technical Sales Specialist

About the role

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will drive sales growth by developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with key and target customers. You’ll manage the full sales cycle; from needs analysis to closing. The role combines consultative and technical solution selling, market insight, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver value-driven solutions. Through proactive engagement, you will foster long-term partnerships and support sustainable growth.

You will be part of a team of 15 salespeople, the position includes travel to our customers, mostly in and around the Pohjanmaa area.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage key and target customers to drive growth.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Apply consultative selling techniques to match solutions to customer needs.
  • Prepare proposals, follow up on quotations, and close deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Represent SMC at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.

What We Expect

  • Technical background or strong interest in technology.
  • Previous experience in technical sales or similar role is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Finnish.
  • Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Good IT and system skills.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel within Finland and occasionally internationally.

Experience in automation, electronics, or manufacturing industries is considered a plus.
