SMC is a dependable supplier, ensuring the right products are integrated into the machines so that Kroma doesn’t have to make any changes. There is generally good cooperation between the employees from SMC and Kroma.
Effective collaboration and reliable support
Randi, Head of Supply Chain at Kroma, works closely with Daniel, Sales Engineer at SMC Denmark. Additionally, Kroma has three machine builders who determine what goes into the machines. They are very satisfied with the products from SMC.
Kroma operates with a minimum stock of SMC products, ensuring they never face urgent shortages. This works very well for Randi as it reduces urgent cases. Kroma receives daily support via email or phone from SMC and always gets quick responses. Randi prioritizes building relationships with one or two key people
at SMC who have an in-depth knowledge of Kroma. Therefore, she always has specific contacts at SMC she prefers to speak with. She emphasizes the importance of good communication, where there is room for humor.

Help with optimization and energy-efficient solutions
Kroma has switched to SMC fittings because they have become in credibly fond of the one-touch fittings.
”They are easy to install without tools, and it’s important that it looks nice since the entire machine can be seen through a large window where you follow the fish all the way”, says Randi. Kroma has discussed replacing pneumatic solutions with electric solutions. Kroma and SMC plan to continue their collaboration with a
focus on sustainability. One of the upcoming projects includes developing a new generation of machines that use less energy and water. SMC’s expertise in green solutions will play a central role in this initiative.
