SMC and The Sustainable Development Goals

The below are our general targets:

• Sustainable measures to prevent climate change
• Healthy, safe and secure working environment
• Human resource development and diffusion of automatic control technology for the development base
• Social contribution activities.

Some examples that illustrate our commitment towards SDGs are:

• We aim to reduce CO₂ emissions and the amount of environmentally hazardous substances used during manufacture by developing products that take into account product assessment, and monitoring the life cycle assessment
• Conduct activities to raise awareness of automatic control equipment by distributing teaching materials for children
• Provide economic assistance through scholarships to engineering students (in science and technology) who wish to enrol in institutions of higher education (universities and graduate schools)
• Donate a portion of our product revenue and profits to social welfare, hospitals, and other enterprises.
• Introduce a system to award points according to efforts to exercise, and support the creation of a healthy body and mind by motivating employees to exercise regularly.
