At SMC, we value the inspiring minds of the next generation and want to engage young people in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) industries and careers.

As an SMC apprentice you’ll be based in our Milton Keynes office where you can learn first-hand from colleagues who are experts in their field and are keen to support you throughout your learning journey.  Along the way you’ll receive a mix of study with a training provider and on the job learning too.  You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in exciting projects with other apprentices that will allow you to work together and really show off your skills!
At SMC we really value new and emerging talent whether you're at the start of your career or taking a change in direction.  Whilst you'll start as an apprentice, the successful completion of your apprenticeship doesn’t have to be the end of your education journey.  We're always open to further learning should you wish to continue your development path with additional qualifications.  Put simply, if you're looking to learn and develop, we're here to help.

We work with a host of amazing industries including automotive, mining and resources, robotics, energy efficiency, electronics and the food industry to name but a few!

We’re also continually investing in new product development as we strive to meet our customers’ needs by developing innovative and high-quality products.

That’s where you come in.  Could you be the one who designs the next best-selling solution?   Could you be one of the procurement specialists who supports our supply chain or one of our skilled production engineers?  You’ll certainly have plenty of opportunity.
 
SMC UK is proud to announce that we are a carbon neutral company. This means we have achieved this accreditation by calculating our emissions via a regulated external supplier and offesetting our carbon footprint by investing in companies that produce renewable energy. SMC work with both Milton Keynes College and MAKE UK (near Birmingham) to ensure our apprentices are offered the very best training. Each vacancy advert will detail which or both training providers the standard can be studied at.
