Following customer requests for range of easy to maintain rotary clamp cylinders with a good selection of stroke variations and dual mounting options, our R&D engineers have simply taken the best features of two existing SMC products – Series MK and MK2 - and put them together in our newly amalgamated and improved Series MK. Available in bore sizes from 12 to 63mm and in clamp stroke lengths up to 50mm depending on the selected model, the new MK Series helps answer our customer's needs with the option of both body and through hole mounting selections and easy maintenance possibilities with fully replaceable seals and guide pins. Designed for use with our compact D-M9 auto switch, which can be mounted on all four sides (only 2 sides in the case of 20 and 25mm) these new rotary clamp cylinders when required can also be used in conjunction with our magnetic field resistant auto switch Series D-P3DW.
Combining compact cylinder size and rotational capability, the MK2 cylinder is designed for heavy duty clamping applications, with an available integrated arm that swings out of the way when the cylinder is extended. 90deg. clockwise or counter clockwise rotation is available, and clamping arms with adjustment screw are standard options. MK2 is available in 6 bore sizes from 20mm to 63mm and stokes from 10 mm to 50 mm.
At SMC we are tightening our hold on the clamp cylinder market with the launch of our CK1-Z series. This updated series features improved speed adjustments and optimised tube lengths, reinforcing our investment in research and development to meet our customers' commercial needs. Either end features a built-in, easily adjusted speed controller delivering both labour and space savings. Shorter in length, other user friendly features include a simple to adjust, flexible air cushion, as well as magnetic field resistant auto-switches mountable from three directions and an optional auto switch mounting rod. Piping flexibility is achieved through the ports located on three surfaces. The CK1-Z Series is ideal for clamping operations in locations that have standard or strong magnetic fields, and in the automotive manufacturing sector.
SMC's CKZ2N power clamp cylinder conforms to the new NAAMS standard. The rounded cover design and release button with minimal protrusion, reduce weld spatter accumulation. The arm opening angle can be easily changed by replacing the stopper bolt. The CKZ2N is available in sizes equivalent to 50, 63 and 80mm bore with arm opening angles ranging from 30° to 135°.
With the addition of two new space-saving options to our popular Series C(L)KG and C(L)KP clamp cylinder we now have some great solutions for robot assembly and welding applications. These latest cylinders, which can be selected with or without lock, are almost 20% shorter and 50% lighter than our existing products. Available in 25, 32 and 40mm small bore sizes, these ultra-compact, slim style cylinders can also be used in conjunction with our small, magnetic field resistant, dual colour auto-switch range - Series D-P3DW.
When car industry experts work alongside research and development engineers from SMC Pneumatics, the world leaders in automation control, theres only one possible outcome the perfect solution! Just one example of this on-going collaboration is SMC´s latest air operated pin clamp cylinder Series CKQ providing simultaneous positioning and clamping.Designed primarily for use in welding and sheet metal applications, this range of spatter resistant double acting cylinders are currently available in four body type options including lock or without lock models. With further choices of either round or diamond type guide pins, to suit hole diameters from 13mm to 25mm, their unique stainless steel construction combined with a outer coating of titanium nitrate (TiN) ensures maximum operational lifetime and increased weld spatter resistance.Other features include the possibility of altering the height of the clamp position by up to 2mm by simply removing the shims, making last minute adjustments a straight forward exercise. Additionally, ease of maintenance has also been recognised by the inclusion of four separate cleaning covers allowing for any weld spatter entering the cylinder to be easily removed without the need of complete cylinder dis-assembly. Designed to operate at piston speeds of 50 to 300 mm/sec, at a maximum operating pressure of 0,7 MPa and within ambient fluid temperature ranges of between minus10º to plus 60ºC, these pin clamp cylinders really are the perfect solution.
Customer demands for a range of smaller pin clamp cylinders for compact machine applications have now been answered with the release of two new pin clamp options Series CKQG32 and Series CKU32. Offering a comprehensive range of guide pin diameters from 7.5mm to 20mm and suitable for use with a wide range of work materials – with hole diameters from 8mm to 20mm, these clamp cylinders are particularly suitable for small, lightweight clamping and material handling applications such as those often found in the car industry. Available in either 30mm or 100mm clamping heights, these cylinders can accommodate two magnetic filed resistant auto-switches on two surfaces of the CKU32 model and on any of the four surfaces of the CKQG32 Series.
