During the development of a custom AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), the engineering team faced a compact motion challenge: how to precisely position centring devices used to align component trays for automated transport. The application required a horizontal actuator to move a floating joint connected to a rod mechanism, which in turn extended four centring pins, two on each side of the AGV. The movement had to be accurate, reliable, and fit within limited internal space, all while maintaining smooth operation in continuous cycles.
