SMC Germany informs:
Invasion of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine – Handling and Measures from our operations in Germany


Dear Business Partner,

We are tracking the escalation in Ukraine with concern and shock. Our thoughts are with the people and with our Ukrainian colleagues in the offices in Lviv and Uzhgorod. We are in close contact with our SMC branch in Austria, which is responsible for the CEE countries. They are currently trying to do everything for the health and safety of the Ukrainian employees, their families and business partners.

SMC Germany has suspended business relations with Russia and Belarus for the time being.

The impact of the war in Ukraine will have an impact on our supply chains:

• In Europe, we expect bottlenecks in the transport sector, as many truck drivers originate from Ukraine and now must return to their home country.
• Due to the ban on overflights over Russian territory for some airlines, there will be delays in air cargo.
• In parallel, we are looking into switching to in-house production for a few products that SMC Germany used to source from the SMC’s factory in Russia.
   

There are currently no further impacts on SMC Corporation's supply chains. In this dynamic situation, we are in particularly close contact with our corporate headquarters.

Even in the current situation, we are doing everything we can to be the right partner for you. Please understand that detailed predictions on the indirect effects are currently still very difficult to make.
