Notification regarding the Earthquake felt in northern Ishikawa area on January 1, 2024

At 16:10 on January 1, 2024 (JST), a huge earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 struck the Noto region, northern part of Ishikawa Prefecture Japan.

We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this earthquake and extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and to the people affected by the disaster.

There were no casualties among our employees or their families, and our manufacturing and storage facilities are all located outside of the areas affected by the earthquake, so there will be no interruption to our business activities.
SMC’s all facilities in Japan will start operation on January 5 after the New Year vacations as scheduled.

We have confirmed that our suppliers have not suffered any human casualties and there will be no harm to our production activities and supply chain.
We will continue to confirm the status of our customers and suppliers in the affected areas.
